1. First warning:
- This is about smoke detectors. With several smoke detectors installed, this increases the possibility of being warned but regularly check the function and battery. FireInvent recommends both ceiling connected smoke detectors or where there are pendant lamps or otherwise suitable, Snapalarm.
2. A smaller fire
- The access of a fire blanket makes it easier to put out the fire regardless if it is an ignited candle holder or a pan in the kitchen. A fire blanket is easy to handle by almost everyone in the family. For maximal safety FireInvent recommends several fire blankets and preferably of a design quality so they are exposed in the home and easy to find.
3.Fire
- If the incident has developed into a full blown fire with a open flames, a fire extinguisher is necessary. The recommendation is to have a powder extinguisher with at least 6 kilos, but this is rather heavy and can be difficult to handle. FireInvent recommends that you complement with a smaller powder extinguisher with 2 kilos that can both be more accessible because of it’s design but most of all easier to handle. And this can sometimes be enough to minimize or completely put out the fire.
4.Evacuation
- If the fire has developed in sucha way that it is not possible to to extinguish it with any of the fire safety products, it’s all about getting out of the house or apartment as quickly as possible. Here FireInvent recommends a fire escape or fire line. For the ultimate fire proof home, there is also an escape plan that everyone in the family are aware about. Specialist help to draw up such a plan is advised.
